Nagri Police rescues 6 bovine animals, seizes vehicle

KATHUA, May 30: Nagri Police rescued six bovine animals and also seized the vehicle in which they were being carried at a naka laid at Link Road Sherpur Khad.
The naka was laid by a police party of Nagri Police Post headed by SI Ashwani Kumar, IC PP Nagri on the basis of specific information. The naka was laid under the supervision of S.S. Sambyal, DySP Hqrs. Kathua and on the directives of SSP Kathua Mohammad Suleman Choudhary.
The police party intercepted one Mahindra load carrier bearing Number JK08E-2493 which was loaded with bovine and was on way towards Srinagar. After observing the Police party, driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot taking the advantage of darkness leaving behind the vehicle at some distance from naka. During search of the vehicle, six bovine animals were rescued and in this regard a case FIR No. 167/2017 u/s 188 RPC, 3/5 PC Act stands registered at P/S Kathua and investigation into the matter is in progress to nab the main kingpin.
