KATHUA Apr 27: Nagri Police on a specific information today seized scooter bearing Registration No. PB35 C 8362 with 40 liters of illicit liquor. The liquor was in possession of driver namely Sushil Kumar Sansi S/o Somraj, R/o Chack Dharb Khan.
Police registered a case under relevant sections of Excise Act and arrested the accused.
The arrest was made by a team of police led by S I Vikas Jasrotia, incharge Police Post Nagri.
In pursuance of the case the Police team also raided the place where he used to prepare the liquor. Police party destroyed the makeshift production unit and seized the utensils used for manufacturing of liquor. Further investigation is going on.
The police has appealed the people of the area to come forward and make this drive against liquor a people’s movement.
