JAMMU, Mar 21: Leaders of BJP Minority Morcha, J&K, led by their president Ranjodh Singh Nalwa today called on party’s national secretary, Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
Sirsa, a three-time legislator had become one of the BJP’s pack of magnificent seven, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the helm in Delhi.
Nalwa congratulate Sirsa for his inclusion in the Delhi cabinet as a Minister.
During his meeting, Nalwa put forward the demands of J&K Sikhs.
He said, “We feel happy over the Sirsa’s inclusion in the Delhi Cabinet of Ministers and have come all the way from Jammu to Delhi to personally congratulate him.”
“Whenever we had an issue in J&K, Sirsa was always there to guide us and provide solution to our problems. Since he is a minister now, I am sure all our problems will get a solution,” said Nalwa.
He said the grant of official status to Punjabi language in J&K was their long-standing demand and hoped that Sirsa would use his good offices to get the needful done at the earliest.
“We have been given assurances in this regard earlier also, but nothing has been done in this regard so far. Sikhs from Kashmir, who are not from BJP, too have come to congratulate Sirsa,” he said.
On the issue of PoJK refugees, Nalwa said, “Of the 25 frozen seats, eight were de-frozen on the recommendation of a parliamentary committee but any positive outcome in this regard is yet awaited.”
He welcomed the nomination of two KPs and one displaced person to the assembly, but also put forward his demand of nomination of two Sikhs, one each for Jammu and the valley, to the UT assembly.
DGPC Baramulla president Paramjit Singh, J&K Refuge Committee general secretary Surjeet Singh and J&K Minority Morcha chief spokesperson Dr Surjeet Singh also addressed the meeting.
