JAMMU, July 14: National Sikh Front (NSF) today demanded naming of Kunjwani Chowk as Banda Singh Bahadur Chowk.
In a statement, Gurdyal Singh, Vice President, of the front said that Chief Minister had announced the naming of the Kunjwani Chowk as Banda Singh Bahadur Chowk during Fateh Divas organised in connection with tercentenary celebration of Baba Banda Bahadur’s victory over Mughals at Dera Banda Singh Bahadur at Rajouri.
Omar Abdullah announced that the Government will name at least three chowks in Jammu province as Banda Singh Bahadur Chowk, but till date nothing has been done in this regards, he added.
He appealed the regional parties not to make it a political issue and build pressure on Chief Minister to fulfill his promise.
