JAMMU, Aug 3: Action Committee Development Charges Extension Area Sector 6 to 14 Nanak Nagar in a meeting today stressed upon the Chief Minister to remove disparity in development charges fixed for the colony.
Chairman of the Committee, S Hira Singh said that instead of Rs 25,000 as developmental charges per canal recommended by the Minister for Urban Development, Rs 40,000 has been fixed for the area, which needs early intervention of the Chief Minister.
The committee said that it is utter discrimination to witness Rs 15,000 developmental charges per canal fixed for other Jammu based Housing Colonies like Gandhi Nagar, Gorkha Nagar, Pul-Par, Mana Basti and Bathindi etc and an excessive amount of Rs 40,000 for Nanak Nagar Housing Colony.
Prominent among others present in the meeting were ND Sharma, S Ajit Singh, Dr BD Sharma, Ch Bishan Singh, SR Sharma, Avtar Singh and Hakumat Singh.
