Nanda asks officers to create mass awareness about welfare schemes

REASI, Aug 29: Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda today stressed on officers to create mass awareness about welfare schemes launched by State and Central Governments so that targeted population avail the benefits.
The Minister was addressing an awareness campaign on the theme ‘Nave Bharat Ka Manthan- Sankalp Se Siddhi’ initiated by the Directorate of Field Publicity Unit Udhampur, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
Also present were  ADDC Ramesh Kumar, ACD M.Y. Malik, CEO B.S Jaral, Tehsildar Rajesh Baru, Executive Engineers and various other officers of field publicity and district administration were present.
The main aim of the programme was to spread awareness among the rural population about New India Manthan ‘Share Ideas for a New India’,  bring people from different sections of the society under one cover and involve them to project developmental level of India by 2022.
In the programme, awareness was spread on various centrally sponsored schemes like the Jan Dhan Yojaja, Atal Pension Yojana, Fasal Bima Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bema Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Mudra Yojana, Startup India, Stand up India etc.
The Minister appealed the people to avail the benefits of schemes meant for generating employment opportunities and to make them self reliant. He also lauded the efforts of the Directorate of Field Publicity in organizing mass awareness programmes to benefit the people.
Later, the Minister distributed trophies and prizes among the students who took part in the sports activities organized in Higher Secondary School Pouni.
He also distributed over 30 gas chullahs among poor women of Pouni and adjoining areas.
