REASI, Mar 5: Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda inaugurated a blood donation camp which was organized by Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation in collaboration with district administration at Mari here today.
During the day-long camp, over 75 volunteers including social workers, employees and other donated blood which would help in saving precious lives. Chief Medical Officer, Reasi, Dr LD Bhagat and other health functionaries were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister lauded the philanthropic initiatives of the organization in doing yeoman’s service for the mankind thereby inspiring many other for starting such pious work of blood donation. He appealed the youth to generously donate blood for saving others.
Appreciating the role of social and religious organizations in bringing several reforms in the society, the Minister said it was only due to their solid efforts that many social evils have been rooted out from the society. He stressed the need for educating the young generation in rich Indian values and life styles.
The Minister further said that all social and religious organizations should also launch campaigns for many type of stress management and relaxation techniques which is the requirement of contemporary life.
