NEW DELHI: In the wake of Covid-19 pandemic and the social distancing being observed to curb the spread of the pandemic, BJP leaders Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Syed Shahnawaz Hussain on Saturday offered namaz at their residences on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha.
Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Mr Naqvi offered namaz at his residence and prayed for prosperity, harmony, unity, safety and well-being of the country.
”Keeping in mind the social distancing due to the Corona epidemic, today on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, I offered prayers at my residence and prayed for the prosperity, peace and harmony of the country,” he tweeted in Hindi.
Mr Hussain also offered namaz at his residence.
In a video message, Mr Hussain greeted people on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha and hoped that it brings happiness for all.
He said he offered namaz at home and prayed that the pandemic is eradicated completely from India and taking everybody along, the country marches ahead.
Devotees across the country celebrated the festival at their homes and mosques while observing all the norms of social distancing.
Normally, people hug each other and greet during the festival, but this time they are greeting just by saying ‘Eid Mubarak’ — keeping in mind the importance of maintaining distance to curb the spread of the virus.(AGENCIES)
