The team of doctors that gave their services in the camp includes Dr Nikhil Mahajan (Cardiologist) and Dr Sana (Medical Officer) and other staff.
During the camp, Dr Harpreet Singh (Chief Medical Officer, CUJ) stated that their aim of organizing this camp is to bring awareness amongst the staff and local residents about the diseases they are suffering from and to make sure that people should get healthcare at the right time, and seeing the doctor early enough before a small health problem turns serious.
Dr Nikhil said that diabetes and high blood pressure are major factors of cardiac diseases. He pointed out that heart diseases are not restricted to age and could happen to anyone be it a child or an adult or elderly. The medics at the camp averred that sedentary lifestyles, irregular eating habits, junk food, excessive mental stress, heavy smoking, obesity lead to complications like diabetes and hypertension. “Avoid fatty food, exercise, eat simple and nutritious food and if possible, take some time out from routine work and spend time with activities you like,” they suggested.
