JAMMU, Nov 28: A free medical camp was organized at Khojipur, Bishnah by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital.
Around 140 patients from village Khojipur turned up for medical check-up and were screened for various ailments including Blood Sugar, BP and Musculoskeletal disorders. ECG was done to screen patients for any heart related problems.
During the camp, cardiac and ortho consultations were given by Dr Sushant Kumar, cardiologist and Dr Rohit Sharma orthopaedic surgeon, respectively. Free medicines were also distributed to the patients.
Dr Sushant Kumar, Cardiologist said that urbanization is ruining the health of the patients even in the villages of J&K. He also said that during the winter season risk of strokes as well as heart attacks increases by manifolds. He advised patients to practice yoga, take healthy diet and quit smoking.
Dr (Brig) Man Mohan Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer of the hospital stated that the aim of organizing this camp is to bring awareness amongst the population about the diseases they are suffering from and to make sure that people should get healthcare at the right time. Dr Harjai specified that after examination in the camps, the needed patients will be referred for specialized treatment or surgery to their hospital.
Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Sarpanch of Khojipur village and his members provided all sort of help for conducting the medical camp. Others who were part of this human effort were Dr Hardeep Singh-Medical Officer, Meena, Kajal, Diksha and Ankita, all paramedical staff.
