UDHAMPUR, Jan 19: Police arrested a drug peddler in Chenani area and seized 6.6 grams of heroin like substance from his possession.
Police team from Police Station Chenani led by Inspector S D Singh, while performing patrolling duty at Champari, National Highway, noticed the suspicious movement of accused, identified as Nazir Ahmed alias Nijju, son of Mohd Mian of Narsoo, Udhampur.
On frisking, 6.66 grams of heroin like contraband substance was recovered from his possession following which the accused was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR under NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Chenani for further investigation.
