JAMMU, Sept 8: Chatha police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a narcotic smuggler along with two kilograms poppy straw.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Chatha police station laid a naka and nabbed a person, who tried to escape on seeing police team.
During checking, police recovered 2 kilograms poppy straw from the possession of the man and arrested him on the spot.
The accused, who is driver by profession, has been identified as Mohinder Paul Singh, son of Sadhu Singh, a resident of Ward Number 2, Bhour Camp.
A case under FIR Number 173/16 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Satwari police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Chatha police post SI Krishan Lal Raina made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Manjit Singh, SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
