KISHTWAR, Sept 30: Police here today arrested a narcotic smuggler from Malipath area and recovered cannabis like substance from his possession.
Under the guidance of SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal, a special team led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar, Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday assisted by Sub Inspector Lal Hussain and under the supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs Kishtwar, Dr. Ishan Gupta, a checkpoint was established at Malipath area.
During checking of vehicles and pedestrians, cops noticed suspicious behaviour of an individual who was attempting to evade the checkpoint.
The cops apprehended him and found cannabis-like substance from his possession after which he was taken into custody.
The arrested individual was identified as Muzafer Hussain, son of Mehraj Din Bagwan, resident of Om Mehta Road, Kishtwar.
In this regard an FIR with number 236/2023 Under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation stared.
