JAMMU, Aug 28: Keeping hawks eye over the persons indulged in sale of drugs, Miran Sahib police nabbed a narcotic smuggler along with 7 grams heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Miran Sahib police station laid a naka at Maralian Road and asked a pedestrian to stop on suspicious grounds.
On seeing police team, the person tried to escape, but police cops chased and nabbed him near some distance from the naka point.
During search, police recovered 7 grams of heroin and arrested the narcotic smuggler.
The accused has been identified as Rohit Mehra alias Guitari, son of Ashok Kumar of Krishna Nagar, Miran Sahib.
A case under FIR Number 137/15 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib police station SI Hilal Azhar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh, SP Headquarters Randheer Singh and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajive Pandey.
