KISHTWAR, July 28: Police here today arrested a notorious narcotic smuggler from Indira Nagar and recovered 6 gm heroin from his possession.
SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal informed that a team of Kishtwar Police developed specific information and leads from previous investigation and accordingly a special Naka was laid by Inspector Abid Bukhari, SHO Kishtwar which was assisted by PSI Pintu Raina under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs, Dr. Ishan Gupta near Indira Nagar.
While checking vehicles and pedestrians, cops noticed suspicious movement of a pedestrian who on noticing cops tried to escape but the cops overpowered him. During his search heroin weighing about 6 gm was recovered and he was arrested.
The arrested person was identified as Shakir Hussain, son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Indira Nagar.
In this regard a case in FIR No. 164/2023 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
