JAMMU, Sept 14: Principal Sessions Judge Kathua, Vinod Chatterji Koul has rejected the bail application of Jewan Kumar alias Jiwa, son of Nek Raj of Chak Drabkhan, Kathua, who was allegedly involved in heroin smuggling case.
After hearing both the sides, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “before enlarging a person on bail, one thing is to be kept in mind the affect of such offence on the society”, adding “use of narcotics by youth is increasing day by day and this increase is because the narcotics are easily available”.
“The youth who get addicted of narcotics spoils not only his own life, but of his family also. For spoiling the life career of such youth, it is the person, who supply such narcotics and sells the same to the youth and if the persons, who are responsible in supplying and thereby spoiling the youth, are not dealt with strictly and if they are allowed to release immediately after their arrest, that will encourage such people in dealing with the supply of such narcotics”, the court further observed.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
Meanwhile, 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu M A Chowdhary rejected the bail application of one Shail Sharma from whom 5 kilograms of ganja was recovered.
After hearing APP Ajay Singh Manhas appearing for the State, the court observed, “drug abuse has became a major problem of the society over the years and the deadly menace requires to be checked through strengthening the reinforcement”.
Accordingly, the court rejected the bail application.
