Narcotic peddlers’ properties worth Rs 51 lakhs attached

RAJOURI, June 21: The police in Rajouri district has attached three moveable properties valuing approximately over Rs 51 lakhs as the said properties were proven to be acquired through illegal means and proceeds of narcotics trade by three Narcotics peddlers.
A police official said that a team from Police Station Nowshera attached three vehicles that include one Dumper truck, one Mahindra Pickup Bolero (Mini load carrier) and one motor cycle with value of nearly Rs 51 lakhs.
The vehicles belong to notorious drug peddlers namely Sukhvinder Singh, son of Babu Ram; Naveen Kumar, son of Moti Ram and Davinder Kumar, son of Rajesh Kumar, all residents of Sehar Makri, Bhawani in Nowshera.
The properties have been attached Under Section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985.
The trio was arrested after a massive recovery of narcotics that was made by police with the help of locals near LoC in Sehar Makri area of Nowshera and a cross LoC smuggling racket was busted.
Police said that the mentioned moveable properties, during course of investigation in case FIR no.36/24 U/S’s 8/21/23/25/29 NDPS Act, have been proved to be acquired from proceeds of narcotic and illegal means and thus the said property U/68F of NDPS Act has been attached.
A team of police headed by SDPO Nowshera Jaswant Singh along with SHO Nowshera Sumit Magotra and I/C Police Post Bhawani attached the property as per the laid down procedure of law. Police warned those involved in narcotics smuggling for strict action against them.
