Narcotic smuggler arrested

Srinagar, Jan 17: Police today arrested a notorious narcotic smuggler and recovered eight-kilograms of charas from his possession from a residential house at Kadlabal, Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Amit Sharma, DySP and Incharge Station House Officer (SHO) Pampore said that on specific information a police party under the supervision of Superintendent of Police, Awantipora raided the house of Abdul Hamid Mir and recovered a bag full of charas.
“A police party raided the house of Hamid and recovered some eight-kilograms of charas from his house and he was arrested on the spot,” Sharma said, adding, it was an achievement for police as the persons was active in the area to carry out this illicit trade.
Sharma said a case (FIR No 10 of 2014 under Section 8/20 of NDPS Act) was registered at Police Station Pampore and investigations are going on.
