KATRA, Oct 15: Police today arrested a narcotic smuggler from the holy town Katra and seized a small quantity of heroin from his possession.
Accused Dawood Ahmed (19), son of Abdul Rashid of Chopra Shop, Tehsil and District Udhampur, was apprehended from Auto Stand Banganga. Police party recovered five grams of heroin and cash amount of Rs 13000/- from his possession.
Police arrested the accused person and seized the recovered heroin as well as the cash. A case FIR No 232/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Katra for further investigation.
Arrest and recovery were made by SHO PS Katra, Inspr Pardeep Gupta, assisted by SI Varinder Singh, I/C PP Banganga under the supervision of SDPO Katra Vivek Shekhar and ASP Katra Naresh Singh.
