MENDHAR, Oct 15: The police recovered one kilogram of heroin and nabbed one youth in this connection.

A police official said that during intervening night of October 14-15, a police party headed by DySP Zaheer Abbas Jafri (SDPO Mendhar), assisted by SHO Mendhar, Manzoor Kohli established a naka at Mankote.
During checking an unknown suspected person was intercepted who tried to escape but police party on naka nabbed him and during his search police recovered nearly 1 Kg Narcotic (heroin), from his possession .The accused was arrested by police but it refused to share the identity of the accused at this stage.
In this regard, a case FIR No.243 /2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Mendhar and further investigation is going on .The delivery of this consignment from across the border can’t be ruled out and police is investigating all the forward and backward linkages.
