JAMMU, Apr 23: Ramban Police today arrested one narcotics smuggler and seized 18.5 kg poppy straw as well as 750 gram charas from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Amir Hussain alias Jimmy of Ward No. 1, Subash Nagar Udhampur, who was arrested by Police during a naka at Bagu Nallah Batote. He was transporting the narcotics from Srinagar to Jammu in a Tempo Traveler bearing registration number JK08A-3432.
Police also seized the vehicle and registered a case against the accused under NDPS Act at Batote Police Station.
