UDHAMPUR, May 5: Registered under the Narsingh Gau Seva Samiti, Jammu and Kashmir, Narsingh Seva Kendra today celebrated its first Foundation Day with fervor at village Khoon of Tehsil Majalta in Udhampur district.
Narsingh Seva Kendra is engaged in Gau Seva activities and extending its service area by developing constructive programs for the education and self-reliance of the farming community of this geographical area to cater the needs of the unemployed rural youth and farmer community by skill development and vocational trainings in agriculture and allied sectors which also includes emphasis on better health by promoting Naturopathy.
Narsingh Seva Kendra, Chairman, Vikram Gujral said that the prestigious project Narsingh Seva Kendra is established on about 150 kanals of land and various works are in progress on it.
The Foundation Day function was presided over by chief guest Swami Hirdyanand Giri, who commended the Kendra’s outstanding contributions to the community. He emphasized the profound impact of Narsingh Seva Kendra’s work across its five dimensions, underscoring its role as a beacon of hope and progress in the region.
Vice-Chancellor of SKUAST Jammu, B N Tripathi also graced the occasion and applauded the Kendra’s remarkable achievements over the past year. “Since its inception, Narsingh Seva Kendra has been a beacon of hope and progress working tirelessly across five key dimensions which include Farmers Training Center and Yoga, Ved Vidyalaya along with Gurukul, Gau Samvardhan Kendra, Naturopathy Center, and Education in Jammu & Kashmir,” he said.
Director of Agriculture Department, Jammu Arvinder Singh Reen said that through workshops, demonstrations, and hands-on guidance, farmers have embraced modern techniques while preserving traditional wisdom, resulting in increased yields and improved livelihoods for the entire community.
He lauded that Gau Samvardhan Kendra (Gaushala) was established on a non-commercial basis for rearing and protection of indigenous breeds of cows.
A large number of local people, farmers and self-help groups participated in the event. Highlight of the event was a special havan as per Vedic traditions for the welfare of the society at large. Director of J&K Bank Anil Goel, Pt Shiv Raina and others were also present on the occasion.
