NEW DELHI, Nov 28: Scores of Youth Congress activists including IYC chief, Uday Bhanu Chib were detained by police after Gujarat Pradesh Youth Congress today staged a massive protest at the Adani Port in Mundra, Kutch in protest against smuggling of drugs into Gujarat through Adani ports.
The protest was led by Indian Youth Congress president, Uday Bhanu Chib, who hails from Jammu and Gujarat Pradesh Youth Congress president Harpal Singh Chudasama along with Youth Congress office bearers and workers from all over Gujarat state.
Gujarat Pradesh Youth Congress said that due to the collusion of BJP government and Adani, youth are being ruined by smuggling drugs worth crores of rupees into the country through Mundra Port. During this, their demands were put forward by protesting with the slogan ‘Nasha Nahi, Naukri Do’.
Indian Youth Congress president, Uday Chib said that the BJP government is ruining the youth of not only Gujarat but the entire country. Morphine worth more than Rs 50,000 crore has been recovered from Mundra Port. The countrymen know at whose behest these drugs are coming. Despite the government having full information, no steps are being taken.
This is a kind of treasonous act of ruining the youth of the country. Today’s youth do not need drugs, but jobs. The BJP government is ruining the youth by bringing drugs worth crores from abroad. “Bharat Mata’s image is getting tarnished due to Adani,” Uday alleged.
IYC chief said, “India’s image is getting tarnished due to Adani, as Adani has become a symbol of corruption.” He also said that Adani company has been blacklisted in America, Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Kenya and protests are being held against him. Chib targeted Prime Minister and said, Adani is being protected by him.
Harpal Singh said that the Youth Congress will fight the battle of the youth’s struggle in the coming days. He said youth of Gujarat are degree holders, but there are no jobs. The BJP Govt is not providing employment to the youth, but trapping them in the drugs.
Later, police stopped the Youth Congress protesters and detained scores of them and shifted to Police Station. They were however, later let off.
