JAMMU, June 8: Police today stepped up searches for Parvez Ahmed Tak, a resident of Kishtwar town and a major missing link in the missing mystery of actor Laila Khan and her four other family members even as a police team from Nasik, Maharashtra headed by Inspector Prabhakar has reached Kishtwar town to join investigations.
“An all out hunt has been launched for Tak, who had driven Laila Khan and her four other family members to Jammu. His name in the missing case of Laila Khan had surfaced after the recover of a Mitsubishi Outlander car, parked in a shop for past several months, in the heart of Kishtwar town’’, DIG Doda-Ramban range, Gareeb Dass said.
He said Nasik police team, which has reached Kishtwar, has shared some vital clues with them on the missing mystery of Laila Khan, her mother, Saleena, siblings, Zara Patel and Imran and a cousin.
The DIG Doda range said it has now become almost certain that Laila Khan along with her four other family members had been driven to Jammu by Tak from Nasik in February 2011. Since then there had been no trace of either Laila Khan or any of her four other family members.
Laila had acted in some Indian and Pakistani movies in both Bollywood and Lollywood before she went missing. Her father Nadir Patel, a businessman had divorced Laila’s mother, Saleena Patel.
Saleena along with Laila, Zara, Imran and a niece had been staying in Nasik Farm House of Nadir Patel. They had left the Farm House along with Parvez and reached Jammu in a TATA Sumo car, sources said, adding that the Farm House had caught fire about a week after the family deserted it. A FIR of the fire had also been lodged with Nasik police by a former servant of Laila’s family.
Laila and her family members were in possession of huge jewellery and cash when they had left Nasik for Jammu along with Parvez Tak. A report of the missing of Laila and other family members had first been lodged by her father, Nadir Patel with Oshiwara police station in Mumbai.
Sources said police had been tracking Parvez Ahmed Tak, who had reportedly been shuttling between Jammu and Himachal Pradesh to evade arrest.
Police was confident that the arrest of Parvez Tak would take the lid of the mystery shrouding the missing of Laila Khan and her four family members besides the recovery of Rs 24 lakh worth Mitsubishi Outlander car, which was in possession of Kishtwar police.
Police teams from Kishtwar, Nasik and Forensic experts have jointly opened Outlander car. Nothing incriminating was found inside the car excepting some Napkins and water bottles.
