Nasir takes stock of developmental works

SRINAGAR, Oct 20: Minister of State for Home, Culture and Tourism, Nasir Aslam Wani today conducted an extensive tour of his constituency and took stock of the pace of developmental works being executed under various schemes at various places.
Mr. Nasir visited various areas including Jawahar Nagar, Rawalpora, Mehjoor Nagar, Barzalla and other adjoining places.
Several deputations of these areas put forth their various problems and drew the attention of Minister about drainage, macadamization of roads, electricity, drinking water, health care street lighting system and other day to day concerns.
Mr. Nasir gave patient hearing to the deputationists and assured that their genuine demands would be taken up with the concerned authorities for early redressal.
The Minister said that already a number of developmental projects have been executed in the constituency to improve the socio-economic profile of the people and with the completion of these projects more better facilities would be available to the people.
Nasir while inspecting building of Girls High School Barzalla which has been declared insecure was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and Director School Education, Kashmir, Chief Education Officer, Srinagar and other concerned. He asked the CEO Srinagar to take the possession of land which has been identified for the construction of the school premises at an earliest. He also visited Govt. Boys Secondary School Rawalpora and directed the concerned to speed up the pace of work of the boundary wall and stressed for providing the sanitary facilities in the school.
Later Mr Nasir visited the historical Lal Chowk including the areas of Court Road, Ghantaghar, Pladium Gali where a deputation of traders appraised him about various issues in the area particularly regarding the beautification of Lal Chowk area.
The Minister was accompanied by Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, G.N Qasba, officers of, R&B, UEED, PHE, Irrigation, SMC, and other concerned departments.
Mr Nasir directed concerned authorities to speed up pace of the ongoing developmental works of the area and asked them to redress the genuine grievances of people on priority and provide better services to them.
