Nation-wide movement soon for abrogation of Article 35 (A): Retd Lt Gen Hoon

JAMMU, Oct 26: Terming Article 35 –A as unconstitutional the “We The Citizen’’ an NGO has demanded its immediate abrogation.
Talking to reporters here, today Lt Gen (Retd.) P K Hoon Advisor of the Organization and Sandeep Kulkarni its president along with West Pak Refugees leader Labha Ram Gandhi and Kuldeep Luthra a social activist said that the organization will mobilize public opinion against the Article and launch a nation -wide agitation for its abolition.
“There will be no dialogue on the issue and our organization will launch a  mass movement for the abrogation of Article 35 (A)’’, said Lt. Gen. P K Hoon. He said “We the Citizens’’ a NGO has also started a legal struggle and achieved a lot by getting a notice served to Central as well as State Governments from the Supreme Court of India seeking reply.
He said since August 16 last year both the State and Central Governments have failed to submit the requisite reply so our organization has decided to take the struggle to general masses. Seeking the support of the people all over the country in this struggle, he urged the masses of J&K to join the national parties and associations for nation -wide protests.
He said in the first phase signature campaign will be launched for submission of a memorandum to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi  demanding abrogation of Article 35 (A).
Expressing grave concern over unfurling of Pakistani and ISIS flags in Kashmir, Lt Gen Hoon termed it dangerous and asked the Government to act against these elements. He said the State should have such a Government which will forcefully act against the elements unfurling ISIS and Pak flags in India.
Sandeep Kulkarni warned the anti national elements to stop taking political benefits on Kashmir issue. He said holding protests in Kashmir against the abolition of the Article 35 (A) will be strongly resisted.
He said a meeting will also be held with prominent citizens of the State at Jammu to chalk out strategy for nation-wide protests.
He turned down the reports that his organization has any connection with J&K Media Centre or RSS and termed all reports in this regard totally baseless. He said his organization is working independently and it is wedded to abrogation of Article 35 (A) of the Indian Constitution.
