National Conference on “Business Dynamics: Contemporary Issues and Challenges” concludes

JAMMU, Mar 22: The 2-day National Conference on “Business Dynamics: Contemporary Issues and Challenges” organized by The Management School, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu in association with National HRD Network and J&K Bank Ltd. concluded today.
Prof. R.D Sharma, Chairman, Board of Professional Entrance Examinations was the special guest for the closing session. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized the need of good research in academic curriculum. He said that the quality of resource persons who delivered the lectures reflects the quality of inputs that the audience has received.
He also deliberated on the significance of genuine and original research and interaction outgrowing the typical stereotype ones. He encouraged to frequently organize such events in order to enhance the level of research and understanding of contributors.
Rajan Dutta, President- Corporate HR at Reliance Communications Ltd. delivered the valedictory address and shared his corporate experience in this changing environment. He said that the key to success is adaptability and flexibility. Mr. Dutta said that business leaders have to learn the ‘excellence of execution’. The need is to create productive and performance oriented culture. At academic level, Mr. Dutta also emphasized the need to align the course curriculum to market needs, so as to orient students according to the environmental demands and market realities.
D.K Bakshi provided the conference round up. He also highlighted the significance of team work and emphasized on the need for right attitude, behavior, character, drive, enthusiasm and energy. Mr. Shakun Khanna, Executive Consultant- Smarter Workforce at Kenexa, an IBM Company provided the conference feedback. He opined that smaller cities are talent in abundance, which needs to be channelize.
Prof. Keshav Sharma congratulated the team of Kathua Campus for organizing such a giant event. Prof. Sharma said that this event can be termed as a feather in the cap of Kathua Campus as well as University of Jammu and management fraternity. The vote of thanks was presented by Dhananjay Singh, Executive Director NHRDN.
Earlier, in her welcome address, Prof. Neelu Rohmetra expressed her gratitude and thanked the contributors and paper presenters who discussed various contemporary business issues and provided brilliant ideas for future research.
Over 90 research papers from across the country were received against the call for papers, out of which 76 were accepted. More than 50 research papers were presented at the conference over five technical sessions. The technical sessions covered the contemporary domains of business like ‘Global Business Practices’, ‘Sustainable Business Practices’, ‘IT and Customer Service Concerns’ and ‘Organisational Best Practices’. Two books titled as “Business Dynamics: Contemporary Issues and Challenges” and “Sustainable Practice: Issues Revisited” were released on the occasion.
The technical sessions were chaired by Prof. Parikshat S. Manhas, Dr. Amisha Gupta, Prof. J.R. Dhotra, Prof. M.R.Rana, Prof. Sameer Gupta, Dr. Vinay Chauhan, Prof. Dipankar Sengupta, Dr. Anil Gupta, Dr. Rajinder Mishra, Prof. Alka Sharma, Dr. Vivek Sharma, Dr. Jyoti Sharma and Dr. Sanjay Bahl. Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Prof. B.C. Sharma and Dhananjay Singh acted as the moderators for the technical sessions.
