JAMMU, Dec 14: The Department of Physics at GGM Science College Jammu, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, organized a grand event to mark National Energy Conservation Day which is celebrated on December 14th every year. The event, centred on this year’s theme, “Powering Sustainability – Every Watt Counts”, witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 60 students and faculty members.
Dr. Purshotam Singh Manhas, Coordinator of IQAC and Head of the Department of Physics, delivered a thought-provoking PowerPoint presentation emphasizing the vital importance of energy conservation. He highlighted how small efforts in conserving energy contribute to building a sustainable future for generations to come.
As a part of the observance, a highly engaging quiz competition on energy conservation was also conducted.
The jury comprising Prof. N.P. Sharma, Dr. Bandhan Sharma, Prof. Suneel Singh Barheyan and Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma evaluated the participants’ performances and Ashish Kumar and Suman were adjudged co-winners for first position whereas Niyati Raina, Raghav Gupta, Nihar Kohli, Varun Sharma and Krish Sharma jointly declared as 2nd position holders in a close finish.All the students who participated in the quiz competition were from Semester 1st of the College.
