National exhibition of paintings by women painters concludes

JAMMU, Mar 13: A national exhibition of paintings by women painters organized by J&K Centre for Creative Arts at Viraj Art Gallery, Gandhi Nagar concluded today.
Seventeen women painters from different states of the country participated in this exhibition.
This exhibition has been dedicated in the memory of late Gobind Kaur, a well known sculptor and print maker of the State and a student of Vidya Ratan Khajuria, a renowned sculptor of the State.
Gobind Kaur has been honoured for her work many times by the art concerned organizations like J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Literature State Awards, All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society, New Delhi and Cultural Academy combine Award, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi and Cultural Academy combine Award, Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar Award, Faculty of Fine Arts, Banaras University, Maha Koushal Kala Prishad, Raipur Award, South Central Cultural Zone award, Nagpur Award, etc.
Triloke Kaul, a veteran artist and national awardee was the special guest on the occasion of closing function of the exhibition.
OP Sharma, Director, J&KCCA, Raj Bharti, President, Viraj Kala Kendra, Jang S Verman, senior artist and others had a round of the exhibition.
Kaul interacting with the guests said that it is befitting effort that exhibition is dedicated to late Gobind Kaur, a dedicated sculptor of the State.
The painters who are participating in this camp were Dr Mamta Singh and Rita Tiwari, Dehradun, Mala Chawla, Jyoti Khanna, and Priyanka Sharma, Amritsar, Pratima Singh, Lucknow, Shahida Malik, Kashmir, Jammu, Anuradha Rishi, New Delhi, Raj Bharti, Reecha Gupta, Amrit Kaur and Anuradha Devi, Jammu, Amita Singh, Jaipur, Naina  Gupta, Bhopal, Shakti Kumari, Kurukshetra, Santhalamadhu, Banglore.
