National Highway connecting Ladakh closed due to landslides

SRINAGAR :   The National highway connecting Ladakh region with the Kashmir valley, was closed this morning due to landslides.
The Traffic police official said heavy rains triggered landslides at Bazinalla, forcing authorities to suspend traffic on the highway.
It was still raining heavily in the area, he said.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO), responsible for the maintenance of the highway, has pressed into service sophisticated machines and men to put through the highway.
