National Legal Services Day celebrated

JAMMU, Nov 10: National Legal Services Day was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm.
On the eve of National Legal Services Day, a pre-lok adalat session of bank cases and MACT cases was held in the District Court Complex, Janipur under the chairmanship of Principal, District and Sessions Judge and Chairman, District Legal Services Authority. A total of 60 bank cases and 4 MACT cases were settled. Besides judicial officers, the pre-lok adalat was attended by insurance companies’ officers, banks officials, advocates and litigants.
District legal services authority, Samba under the chairmanship of Inder Singh, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority and RK Dubey, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee celebrated National Legal Services Day at District Court Complex, Samba. On the occasion, all the judicial officers apprised the general masses about their rights regarding legal services. A pre-lok adalat session was also organized.
To commemorate National Legal Services Day, a legal awareness camp on the legal rights was organized at Munsiff Court complex Majalta under the chairmanship of Sudesh Sharma, Munsiff, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Majalta. Speaking on the occasion, Sudesh Sharma said the objective of the TLSA is to sensitize the common people on their legal rights, enlighten about Legal Services Authorities Act, extending support to the privileged and the weaker sections, explain the Rights and Acts of women, children and other sections to the legal volunteers and to settle the cases amicably. Bar president Advocate Mohan Lal Gupta and Advocate Amit Sharma were also present.
