JAMMU, Nov 9: National Legal Services Day was celebrated across the Jammu and Kashmir.
JAMMU: District Legal Services Authority Jammu under the chairmanship of Vinod Koul Chatterjee, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Principal, District Session Judge Jammu launched a massive awareness campaign to be carried out from today to November 18 to aware the public about the various welfare schemes of J&K State Legal Services Authority. DLSA Jammu to make available free legal services to the weaker and marginalized sections of the society established Legal Assistance Desks at the entrance of the District Court Complex, Janipura. Para Legal Volunteers and panel lawyers will apprise the public about the functions and activities of the legal services authority. Door to door campaign was also started whereby teams of PLVs headed by Panel Advocates will apprise the general public about various schemes of the State Legal Services Authority by way of distributing literature consisting of pamphlets, brochures and booklets. DLSA also put hoardings in public places to spread awareness.
AKHNOOR: Tehsil Legal Services Committee celebrated National Legal Services Day under the chairmanship of Pooja Raina, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Akhnoor at court premises here. On the occasion, Naib Tehsildar, President Bar Association Parkash Raj Gupta, senior advocates, retainer lawyer TLSC Akhnoor Nikhil Kumar Gupta and local people were present. President Bar Association, Advocate ML Sharma and Advocate Anu Sharma aware the participants about the various schemes initiated by the Government.
UDHAMPUR: Under the chairmanship of KS Parihar, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Principal District and Sessions Judge, Udhampur) National Legal Services Day was celebrated in the District Court Complex, in which Additional District and Session Judge, CJM, Special Mobile Magistrate, Additional SP, CP0, PO, advocates, students of Brahm Rishi Bawra Shanti Vidhya Peeth and Vivek Niketan High School along with teachers participated. The participants were apprised about the importance of the day and the legal aid schemes launched by the NALSA/SLSA being implemented by DLSA Udhampur at the district and tehsil level.
RAMNAGAR: To celebrate Legal Services Day, a legal awareness camp-cum-Lok Adalat was held in the premises of Sub Judge Court, here. The function was presided over by Sub Judge, Anjum Ara who is also the Chairman of Tehsil Legal Services Committee Ramnagar. While deliberating, the Chairman informed the participants about the rights of people under the Legal Services Authority Act. Tehsildar Ramnagar, Romesh Singh, Prosecuting Officer, Renu Rani, Station House Officer, Sanjay Raina, Naib Tehsildar, Bar President, Bar Members and large number of litigants attended the Lok Adalat. In the Lok Adalat, 20 cases were taken up out of which 12 cases were disposed off. Besides, 64 traffic challans were disposed off on the spot. A compounding fine of Rs 6,950 was also recovered on the occasion.
REASI: District Legal Services Authority under the chairmanship of SR Gandhi, Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Principal District and Sessions Judge Reasi celebrated National Legal Services Day in District Court Complex here. On the occasion a legal awareness camp and Lok Adalat were held. The camp was attended by SR Gandhi Chairman District Legal Services Authority Reasi, VS Manhas Sub-Judge Chief Judicial Magistrate Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Reasi, KK Dubey, PD Singh President Bar Association Reasi, RK Sharma, VK Sharma, Shalinder Bardwaj Advocates, bar members, Retainer Lawyers, Para Legal Volunteers and a large number of persons. On the occasion ten days outreach campaign of Legal Services Authorities was started and PLVs and Retainer Lawyers were sent to far flung areas of the district for making public aware about the various functions and activities of Legal Services Authorities and available free legal services to weaker and marginalized sections of society. A Lok Adalat was also held in which 128 cases were taken up and 25 cases were decided.
KATHUA: Legal Services Day was celebrated at Legal Aid Clinci (Village and Care Support Centre) Sahar Logate under the chairmanship of MA Chowdhary, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Principal District and Sessions Judge Kathua. A massive publicity programme was under taken, the banners were displayed and pamphlets were distributed to the participants. All the Retainer Lawyers of DLSA Kathua namely Nidhi Suman, Advocate, Sunita Devi Advocate, Naiya Sharma Advocate, Anil Kalotra Advocate and Neeraj Bhagat Advocate and Retainer Lawyers of TLSC Kathua namely Sumit Jasrotia Advocate and Puneet Kumar Advocate and PLVs of DLSA and TLSC Kathua, Social Welfare Officer, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Gram Sewak of BDO Block, Sapranchs, panchs and prominent persons of the areas also attend the function.
RAJOURI: National Legal Services Day was celebrated in Nation Public Higher Seconday School, Rajouri, A detailed programme to highlight the Legal Services Day was held under the directions of Principal, District and Sessions Judge (Chairman, District Legal Services Authority) Rajouri Shahzad Azeem in which District Judicial Mobile Magistrate Tabraiz Ahmed Qazi, Retainer Lawyers, Para Legal Volunteers, Bar Members, Principal and staff of the school, large number of students, staff of DLSA and general public took part. While speaking, District Judicial Mobile Magistrate Tabraiz Ahmed Qazi highlighted the aims and objectives of the various schemes and programme being organized by DLSA Rajouri. Similar functions were also held at all Tehsil Headquarters of the District.
POONCH: National Legal Services Day was celebrated at the District Court Complex here under the chairmanship of Zubair Ahmed Raza, Chairman DLSA in which students from various colleges, Principals, bar members, general litigants, besides Principal District and Sessions Judge Zubair Ahmed Raza, Chief Judicial Magistrate Poonch, Sub Judge Poonch, District Mobile Magistrate Poonch, DDC, Additional DC, SSP Poonch and SP Poonch also participated. Two students from all the participating institutions spoke on the occasion and were awarded with prizes and certificates. A rally was also taken out, which started from District Court Complex and concluded at Bus Stand.
KISHTWAR: National Legal Service Day was celebrated by District Legal Services Authority in the premises of District Court Complex under the Chairmanship of Principal District and Session Judge kishtwar. People from far flung areas of District Kishtwar including public representatives, public workers, women, children, Government officials were made aware regarding the legal services activities. Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee (Sub-judge/CJM) Kishtwar, retainers lawyers and other bar members also spoke on the occasion.
