National Legal Services Day observed

JAMMU, Nov 9: National Legal Services Day was observed across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
DODA: District legal Services Authority Bhaderwah observed National Legal Services Day by organising an awareness camp on Legal Services Authorities Act 1987 and Lok Adalat in the premises of District Court Complex Bhaderwah. Principal District and Sessions Judge Bhaderwah Virender Singh Bahu was chief guest on the occasion whereas Special Mobile Magistrate Bhaderwah Munish K Manhas, Sub Judge Bhaderwah Sumiti Sharma and Secretary DLSA (Sub Judge) Mudassir Farooq were also present on the occasion. Secretary DLSA (Sub Judge) Mudassir Farooq highlighted the important schemes of NALSA and the utility of Lok Adalat. Advocate Rama Kant Gupta, Advocate Manjeet Razdan and Advocate Mohd Majid Malik threw light on the importance of National Legal Services Day.
GANDOH: On the occasion of National Legal Services Day, a Lok Adalat was held under the chairmanship of Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Gandoh, Arvind Manhas at JMIC Court Complex, Gandoh.
RAMBAN: District Legal Services Authority organized a legal awareness camp to mark National Legal Services Day here under the guidance of its Chairman (Principal District and Sessions Judge), Haq Nawaz Zargar. The camp was attended by Additional District Judge Fast Track Court, Surinder Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate (Sub-Judge), Anjum Ara, Munsiff JMIC, Arusa Chowdhary, President Bar Association, Advocate Asif Runyal, Senior Advocates TH Malik and AR Mushtaq besides Panel Lawyers, Para Legal Volunteers and a large number of respectable persons. Addressing the participants, the Chairman DLSA assured the public to provide instant legal services to poor, senior citizens, women and children and mentally disabled persons etc. He appealed to the people to come forward and avail maximum benefits of such schemes.
UDHAMPUR: District Legal Services Authority under the guidance of its Chairman and overall supervision of its Secretary, Rajni Sharma (Sub-Judge) organized a campaign to mark Legal Services Day, here today. A Special Lok Adalat was also held under the chairmanship of YP Bourney (Principal District and Sessions Judge Udhampur) to hear Matrimonial, MACT, civil and criminal compoundable cases in the District Court Complex Udhampur. Five benches were constituted to hear the cases with Bench Number 1 comprising YP Bourney Principal District and Sessions Judge Udhampur and SC Katal Additional District and Sessions Judge, Udhampur, Bench Number 2 comprising  Shafeeq Ahmed District Mobile Magistrate, Udhampur and Kamiya Singh Andotra Munsiff JMIC, Bench Number 3 comprising Samriti Sharma Sub Judge Chairman TLSC Ramnagar and KD Sharma Panel Lawyer TLSC Ramnagar, Bench Number 4 comprised of Amandeep Kour Munsiff Chenani, Advocate  Balwan Singh Panel Lawyer and Advocate AS Katoch Panel Lawyer TLSC Chenani and Bench Number 5 comprised of  Priyanka Mahajan Munsiff Majalta. A total of 110 cases were disposed off in the special Lok Adalat and a total amount of Rs 2,76,800 was realized on spot.
GANDERBAL: National Legal Services Day was observed by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) here under the guidance of Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal. The day started by reading the Preamble of Constitution of India in which Chairperson DLSA Ganderbal, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal, staff members and PLVs were present. On the occasion, the Secretary DLSA Ganderbal, emphasized on the urgency of striving for reducing the gap between the rich and poor litigants for a fair justice delivery. Advocate Sabreena Fayaz explained the role of Legal Services Authorities in ensuring Justice to weaker sections of the society.
BUDGAM: Principal District and Sessions Judge (PD&SJ) Budgam Mohammad Ashraf Malik said that the women shall be respected and honoured in every part of life; her role shall be appreciated and acknowledged as homemaker not as house wife alone and that her role is pivotal in imparting humanity gesture in a society. The PD&SJ made these remarks while addressing a function organized by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam to observe Legal Services Day at Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall, Budgam. He was the chief guest during the day long programme which was observed under the theme of ‘Women empowerment’. Cultural program was also performed by the students of IPTS School Khansahib. Later, certificates of appreciation were awarded by the chief guest to the participants, panel lawyers and para legal volunteers for their work.
