JAMMU, Mar 27: A two -day national seminar on “Inculcating Scientific Temperament among young minds” began today at Government College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu.
Former Vice Chancellor of Jammu University, Prof Y R Malhotra was chief guest in inaugural of the seminar, which is being organized in collaboration with Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Jammu Chapter.
Principal of the college, Prof Hemla Aggrawal, highlighted importance of this seminar in developing a scientific outlook among the young minds for eradicating many social evils like inequality, injustice and also help in development of a progressive nation.
Prof Y R Malhotra stressed upon applying the scientific temperament in day to day life so that we can live a healthy life. Prof J S Tara, Convenor ISCA Jammu chapter, informed how science has helped in development in different spheres of life when used positively.
Dr Shweta Yadav of Central University of Jammu, Dr Rajnesh from Kurukshetra University, Dr Manju Bhala of DAV College for Women, Karnsal were the resource persons.
Science models were also kept for display by PG students of GCW, Parade.
