National Workshop on Basic Econometrics concludes at SMVDU

KATRA, Mar 8: One week duration National Workshop on Basic Econometrics conducted at SMVDU in collaboration with the Indian Econometrics Society concluded successfully.  During this One Week duration the Econometrician par excellence including Prof. Neeraj Hatekar, University of Mumbai; Dr. S. Chandersekhar, Indira Gandhi Institute of Development and Research; Dr.K. Shanguman, University of Baroda and treasurer of TIES; Prof.  (Retd.) and R. K. Rana, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra were the external experts.  The basic objective of workshop was to provide platform to the researchers to enhance and widen their research and analytical skills with the help of series of lecturers and ‘Hands on’ training sessions.  With a variety of advanced softwares and other research instruments, the workshop witnessed participation of faculty and research scholars from different institutes/universities including Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar; Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi; Doon University, Dehradhun; Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh; Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi; M.S. University of Baroda; University of  Jammu; RBI,Mumbai; NIFM, Faridabad; University of  Jammu; University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradhun; SUKAST, Jammu; and SMVDU.
During the valedictory session, participants accepted the wider, cascading positive effects on them with this kind of knowledge, practical training and teaching pedagogy learnt during the national workshop. The participations from nook and corner of the country have given a cosmopolitan nature to this one week long event. The participants highlighted the benefits derived from this workshop and share their experiences of learning and stay in the campus. The participants showed deep sense of gratitude towards the university authorities for hosting such productive and learning driven event. The organiser of the workshop expressed thanks to the university administration for the valuable, enthusiastic and hurdle free facilities to organise the event successfully.
