Natraj Natya Kunj’s Dogri play ‘Macbeth; The Crown of Blood’ invited to Chandigarh

JAMMU, Feb 5: Natraj Natya Kunj Jammu’s J&K State Cultural Academy awarded Dogri play ‘Macbeth; The Crown Of Blood’ has been invited to 14th TFT National Theatre Festival.
This world famous tragedy Play Macbeth is originally written by William Shakespeare, adapted in Dogri by Karan and directed by National Sangeet Natak Akademi Yuva Bismillah Khan awardee Abhishek Bharti.
Briefing to the media, president of the group Kumar A ‘Bharti’ informed that `Macbeth; The Crown Of Blood’ is one of the highly experimental work of the group which has been awarded this year with Best production, Best Director, Best Music, Best Light and various Acting Awards from Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. Further, he added, it is for the first time that a Dogri play is invited to such a prestigious National festival. “It’s a matter of great pride for the Dogras, Dogri language and theatre that Dogri play is going to be presented in such an eminent National event,” he said.
This Festival is organized by one of the leading Theatre group of Chandigarh, Theatre for Theatre. Month long National festival is one of the biggest National events of North India and will manifest 1500 artists from all over the India including many nationally and internationally prominent artists. Festival will feature different aspects of performing Arts including RU-BA-RU session, Director Interaction session, Theatre Workshops, Kavi Samelan, Mushiara, Folk Dances, Talent Show, Swaang, 30 Visual Art Exhibition, 30 Street Plays, and Plays from all over India.
Highly professional team of 15 artists will leave for Chandigarh on 16th of February and will present the play on 17th of February 2019 at Bal Bhawan, Sector 23 Chandigarh. The team comprises of Abhishek Bharti, Mukesh Bakshi, Akshay Razdan, Amandeep Sharma, Kanav Sharma, Abhishek Sharma, Karan, Aaditya Bharti, Lalit Sharma, Shammi Dhamir, Niharika Sakshi, Priya Sharma, Hema Shivgotra and Anshika Sharma.
