Natrang artist Rahul bags Junior Fellowship

JAMMU, Jan 11: Yet another artist of Natrang has brought laurels to J&K after being selected for the award of Junior Fellowship for the year 2019-20 from Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, Union Ministry of Culture.
It is Rahul Singh, who is the only one from J&K this year for having been selected for the prestigious fellowship in the field of Theatre.
Natrang Director, Balwant Thakur while complimenting Rahul Singh said it’s a proud moment not only for Natrang but for the entire region as only one artist was able to qualify this.
Born and brought up in Jammu, Rahul has been practicing in theatre since 2006 at Natrang Theatre Group under the guidance of Padmashree Balwant Thakur.
He is also a National Scholarship holder for two years (2011-2013) from the Union Ministry of Culture, for folk/traditional and indigenous arts to learn the new methodology of Dogri Folk theatre in Contemporary Style.
Initially he started his career in theatre as an actor and has acted in over 70 plays with more than 300 performances so far.
The actor stepped into direction in the year 2015.
