LONDON, Oct 24: The artists of Natrang mesmerised the audience at the auditorium of Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan West Kensington, London with their thrilling performance in the main show of Jammu Kashmir Festival.
Conceived, designed and directed by Balwant Thakur, this unique show based on the traditional dances of Jammu and Kashmir has attained the status of out of the world performance with the sheer professional approach in conceptualization, designing, audiography, choreography, usage of ethnic costumes, jewellery, properties, and innovative direction backed with electrifying performance of professional performers.
Today’s show ‘Celebrating Diversity’ was the major attraction of Jammu Kashmir festival which started from Trafalgar Square, London on 16th October and is rocking this world city with unique presentations on J&K with every succeeding day.
The Jammu Kashmir Festival is curated by Lakshmi Kaul who is supported by a team of cultural enthusiasts,  a small group of like-minded individuals, originally from Jammu Kashmir, India, now living in the UK have taken it upon themselves to tackle the skewed perception of this beautiful State with an immense potential for growth and investment opportunities. Prominent amongst them are   Manu Khajuria Singh and Lalit Sharma.
In addition to the dance programmes, there was also a talk by Prof Andrew Kerr and a presentation by Jasdeep from the National Army Museum highlighting the Dogra Martial traditions of the State of J&K. There was an exhibition of artefacts and handicrafts along with a visual display of the history, heritage and arts from the state at the Festival that saw hundreds of visitors.
The artists who received appreciation of one and all included Rahul Singh, Shazia Batool, Sunny Mujoo, Nikhil Manhas, Ankush Bhasin, Gauri Thakur, Jyoti Kumari, Bindiya, Aarti Slathia, Naina Sharma, Saloni Verma, Simran Kaur and Rakesh Kumar Kona. The lights and sound of the show was designed by Mohd Yaseen.
