JAMMU, July 19: Natrang is conducting auditions of young budding artists in the field of Music, Dance and Drama for three-year training programme for which the 15 selected artists will be awarded scholarship instituted by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Natrang Jammu.
Giving details about this scholarship programme, Natrang Director, Padmashree Balwant Thakur informed the media here today that the training programme of the selected scholarship holders will start from August 1, 2016, the selection of which is currently in process and so far over 250 young aspirants have been auditioned by Natrang through a team of experts.

“The training programme with the award of scholarships is the rarest opportunity of support and motivation for the aspiring artists and we desired this to reach to the ultimate and exceptionally unexplored talents”, he said, adding this three year programme is aimed at creating professionals in the field of music, dance and drama who will revolutionize the entire cultural movement of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Natrang Director said, “The selected artists during the first year under this scholarship programme will be awarded Rs 3,000 per month. Those who will complete the first year of elementary training programme will be upgraded to general training programme and will entitled to receive Rs 4,000 per month during the IInd year. Those who will complete and qualify two years of training will be promoted to a specialized training programme during the third year and the scholars will be entitled to receive Rs. 5,000 per month”.
He further informed that this scholarship programme to young artists was formally inaugurated by Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, NN. Vohra at Raj Bhawan on April 11, 2013 but after the completion of one year of the training programme, this programme has been stopped for the want of the revision of new rules and regulations to conduct it successfully and effectively.
