JAMMU, May 3: Natrang inaugurated its Weekend Theatre Club for children here today at Natrang Studio Theatre, Kachi Chawni.
This year long theatre training programme is designed to make children aware of their own self-actualisations with the help of experts training them. The workshop is a wholesome supplement for the personality development and self enhancement of the children with the help of the latest developed techniques in theatre and other art forms.
Balwant Thakur, Director Natrang has devised this year-long programme in which children are required to come on Saturdays and Sundays only so that their academic schedule is not disturbed and instead they inculcate the skills which further enhance their efficiency in studies.
The workshop is being conducted by Sumeet Sharma who has sufficient experience of doing theatre with children, Neeraj Kant-a veteran theatre artist and Aarushi Thakur, a young theatre director and a trained artist at the workshop at RADA (London).
Other than this many other experts of different art-fields like music, dance, painting etc would be coming as visiting faculty to impart vast knowledge and exposure to the participants.
National School of Drama has also been roped in to provide expert faculty to Natrang.
The workshop is being coordinated by Mohammad Yaseen.
