Natrang organizing mega show of Bawa Jitto at Jhiri: Balwant

JAMMU, Nov 10: Natrang is going to organise mega theatrical show on the supreme sacrifice of Dogra folk legend Bawa Jitto at Jhiri Mela-2016 on November 13 and 14, 2016 at the main stage of Jhiri.  The show timings will be 7:00 pm on both of these days.
This was informed today by the Natrang Director Padamshree Balwant Thakur at Natrang Studio Theatre that staging of Bawa Jitto at is going to be the ultimate attraction of Jhiri Mela. Natrang has been organising the shows of Bawa Jitto for the last eleven years at Jhiri Mela which have been witnessed by lakhs of people. The mega theatre show of Natrang is supported by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Bawa Jitmal Shrine Mela Committee. This is a rarest opportunity for the audience to live through a six hundred year old saga in memory of which this festival is held every year since ages. He thanked Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board for giving sustenance support to this globally acclaimed play which is now being performed regularly since last 31 years and has now created the history for being the longest living theatre production of the country.
Balwant Thakur also thanked District Development Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh for extending full cooperation and logistic support for holding of this mega event of Natrang. Giving further details Balwant Thakur said that people from all over the North India throng to the venue and this opportune moment has to be fully utilised by showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region through the presentation of the play Bawa Jitto. No where on this earth one can find this kind of devoted and captive audience, the kind of audience one gets at Jhiri Mela.
On the occasion Balwant Thakur said that Natrang has a mission to create Jhiri a global cultural destination through the presentation of this play and appealed all the stakeholders to support this endeavour of Natrang.
