JAMMU, May 6: Natrang presented Hindi play ‘Deemak’ in its Sunday theatre series. The play has been written by Vasant Ramekar and directed by Neeraj Kant.
The play ‘Deemak’ is a very blunt political satire and presents before us the disastrous outcomes of the sinister designs of dirty politics.
The play starts at the ambience of college elections where some student leaders are putting their best efforts to become the college president. On asserting which student leader has more influence on the students, one of the main stream politicians comes forward to patronize him on the condition that he would facilitate his victory but on becoming the president, he would act like his puppet, this proposal was readily accepted by ambitious leader (Daddu).
‘Neta Ji’s’ plan succeed and he started playing his puppet to fulfill his interests, he makes him create havoc and anarchy in the college and disrupt the studies on the signals of Neta Ji, he is also used to sway the power of youth beyond college boundary and disturb the peace of the common people, but when it becomes too much and he starts facing resentment from the students, Neta Ji turns his face from ‘Daddu’ and cuts all the support to him, this makes situation worse for ‘Daddu’ and he decides to expose him in media and public.
Fearing the rebellion from his own creation, Neeta Ji plans the murder of the leader and clears all the expected dangers for him.  At the end, Daddu’s father who has lost his only son, pleads before the audience to be more watchful towards the actions of their children so that they do not fall prey to the wolfs of the society.
