JAMMU, Sept 23 : This Sunday, Natrang presented a comedy play in Hindi ‘Do Bata Ek’ in its  Weekly Sunday Theatre Series.
The play was written by Charanjeet and directed by Anil Tickoo. The fast pace comedy was highly appreciated by the audience. The story was made contemporary by putting some present day situations in it. The ultra modern concept like loyalty test is dramatically revisited through the presentation of this play.
The story of the play moves like this, ‘Romilla’ who is about to marry ‘Narinder’ (the man of her choice), plans to take his loyalty test as her cousin ‘Sumitra’ is apprehensive that may be Narinder is after her wealth and not loves Romilla truly. So, story takes off here, both Narinder and Romilla are set to meet at Narinder’s rented accommodation but to their surprise, Romilla’s cousin Sumitra is already there and pretends herself as Narinder’s married wife and claims that he is now leaving her just for wealth and riches. In this pre-scripted drama, Narinder is subjected to a mental torture and finally he is awarded 100 percent marks in this loyalty test. The drama is over but Narinder is not ready to forget the mental trauma and plans ‘tit for tat’ for them. Narinder gives a new twist to the story and claims that while that drama was going on, he had occasion to see Sumitra intimately that he has fallen in love with her. This dramatic turn of Narinder pushes both the sisters in a fighting row and both start cursing each other. Before their fight reached to climax, Narinder freezes their action and laughs for being victorious in rightly showing them ‘tit for tat’ and makes the situation cordial.
Uplaksh Singh as ‘Narinder’, Sakshi Parkash as ‘Romilla’ and Sajra Qadir as ‘Sumitra’ all three young artists of Natrang were very impressive in putting the life to their respective roles which could generate continuous laughter among the audience.  Lights were operated by Rohit Verma and Music was scored by Ashwani Bali. Sets were erected by Vishav Rajput and Prem Dalia. Mohd. Yaseen looked after the Hall Management. Sumeet Sharma coordinated the show whereas Rahul Singh anchored the show.
