Natrang presents ‘Kauva Chala Hans Ki Chaal’

JAMMU, July 23: Natrang presented Moliere’s super comedy play ‘Kauva Chala Hans Ki Chaal’ at  Abhinav Theatre today. The show was sponsored by Airtel. The play was directed by Sumeet Sharma who is a recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi’s prestigious National Award for Theatre Direction, ‘Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar’ and the performance carried his distinctive mark.
Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Katra, was the chief guest whereas Sojayana Sharma Director Local Bodies and Ashwani Khajuria, Regional Transport Officer, Jammu were the guests of honour. Other prominent persons who witnessed the performance included Ravendra Desai (Chief Operating Officer, Airtel, J&K), Arun Manhas (Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu), Siddharth Dogra (Editor-in-Chief Jammu Links News), Sanjeev Luthra, Rajeev Luthra (Luthra College of Institutions) and Vikrant Sharma (Programming Head 92.7 Big FM)
Welcoming  the distinguished gathering Director Natrang Balwant Thakur spoke at length about the Natrang’s future projects which are aimed at revolutionizing the entire cultural movement of the State. While thanking Airtel he appealed all to support Natrang’s endeavours and own its accomplishments.
The play ‘Kauva Chala Hans Ki Chaal’ is Hindustani adaptation of world famous French comedy by Moliere ‘A Bourgeois Gentleman’.
The main highlights of the performance was its powerful and witty script, very appropriate and cleaver treatment of script by the director and par excellence acting of Anil Tickoo who very impressively demonstrated his long experience and versatility as an actor. He was equally supported by the other senior actors like Sunita Pandit, Neeraj Kant, Aarushi Thakur, Rahul Singh, Suneedhi Sharma, Charanjeet Bhardwaj, Shivika Verma, Sanyam Pandoh, Aishwarya Sathe, Rajan Thakyal, Shivam Singh and Yash Manhas.
The lights were designed by Suraj Ganjoo and music was scored by Brijesh Avtar Sharma. Lokesh Chander did the sound of the play whereas Mohd Yaseen looked after the public relations. Gauri Thakur ably conducted the proceedings of the show.
Appreciating the hilarious presentation of Natrang, chief guest Ajeet Sahu said that Natrang has created a new cultural movement in the State of Jammu & Kashmir through their highly socially relevant plays. He appreciated the initiative of Airtel in supporting such important activities which are aimed at promoting local talent, art, culture and providing Jammu audience an opportunity of entertainment and education through the staging of such plays. Chief guest  and other dignitaries were also felicitated on the occasion by Director Natrang Balwant Thakur and Ravendra Desai (Chief Operating Officer, Airtel, J&K).
