Bovines smuggling bid foiled

JAMMU, May 7: Akhnoor police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 11 cattle.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Akhnoor police station laid a naka on Sohal road and signaled a truck bearing registration number JK14A-8082 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued 11 bovine animals from the vehicle and seized it, while the cattle smugglers managed to escape from the spot taking benefit of the darkness.
A case under Fir Number 85/17 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Akhnoor police station and hunt has been launched to nab the bovine smugglers.
