JAMMU, Feb 4: Theatre group ‘Natrang’ here today staged a new Hindi play ‘Mera Ghar Mera Sapna’ directed by Neeraj Kant.
The play opens with labourers working on a housing project. A young couple of labourers has life-time dream of settling down by building own home. Their conditions worsen when they are blessed with a child.
Whenever influential people have to be accommodated under new developmental projects the poor inhabitants are thrown away.
A Police party enters the houses to search and throws out all items lying in the house and abuses the woman as well.
Meanwhile, due to communal riots, many houses are destroyed and people are forced to live in relief camps. Due to living in an unauthorized colony, one day the police arrive with bulldozer to push them out. Here the couple firmly decides that they will not vacate their house and asked all other residents of the colony to stand united against injustice.
The play takes a new turn when the aggression of the deprived people flare up and authorities agree to accommodate them.
Artists who performed in the play were Sanket Bhagat, Vishal Sharma, Chaitanaya Shekhar, Vandana Thakur, Kushal Bhat and Mehak Singh.
Lights were designed and executed by Neeraj Kant and music was scored by Mehak Chib. The show was coordinated by Mohd. Yaseen.
