Jammu, Mar 29: On the third day of Natrang Theatre Festival-2021, Natrang staged a new Hindi play ‘Koi Aur Raasta’ written by Pratap Sehgal and directed by Neeraj Kant.
The play ‘Koi Aur Raasta’ very sensitively touches the topic of man-woman relationship in context of marriage and very brilliantly presents different shades of it with such vivid detailing that the audience could relate to it instantly.
Mahesh and Indu liked each other and decided to go for love marriage, which was pleasant initially but soon lost its sheen. A number of domestic issues troubled them and they lost faith in the institution of marriage.
Moreover, Mahesh started to baselessly suspect that Indu is in an extramarital relation with one of their common friend which shatters her. Even after certain half-hearted attempts to save their marriage from breaking, they failed as life partners and attained mutual divorce.
After some years, both decide to move on but could not forget each other in the heart of their hearts. One day, Mahesh finds Indu at Railway Station and they both initiate into a very casual conversation.
Recalling only good memories, Mahesh persuaded her to return to him but he was too late to realize his mistake as Indu had married again.
This play carries some influences of Ibsen’s Doll’s House.
This intense presentation was followed by an interaction on the play which was conducted by Balwant Thakur.
Natrang actors who acted in the play included Meenakshi Bhagat who brilliantly enlivened a challenging character. She was equally supported by Brijesh Avtar Sharma. Others who impressed by their performance included Kananpreet Kaur, Palsheen Dutta, Diksha Pandita, Shivam Bhat and Sagar Gupta. Lights were designed and executed by Neeraj Kant whereas music was scored by Brijesh Avtar Sharma. The show was coordinated by Mohd. Yaseen and the presentations were done by Sushant Singh Charak.
