JAMMU, Mar 18: Urdu play ‘Neeli Ragein’ was staged today at Natrang Studio Theatre, Kachi Chawni in its Sunday Theatre Series.
The play written by Urdu story writer, Sadat Hasan Manto and directed by Neeraj Kant,
opened in the room of a poet, who is entangled in the web of creativity. He lived in a world of fantasies and imagination.
Being a poet, his thoughts were metaphysical and got an appearance of a girl in his dream, who was as beautiful as his creativity.
He talked to that girl every night and narrated the whole event to his friend. Whenever he was in his sub-conscious state of mind, he praised the beauty of that girl, which made him feel better about her.
He mentioned her smile, mole on the lips and also the blue veins of her white hands, which he related to the blue sapphire on the white snow.
Though this was the praise of her beauty but it makes that girl cold blooded who is always in quest of the warmth of the implied expressions.
One day, she broke the wordy web of the poet and came out in the world of realities for the poetic fantasies.
Balwinder Singh as ‘Poet’ exhibited his talent as a genuine actor. He was equally supported by Sajra Qadir as ‘Girl’ and Rahul Singh as ‘Friend’. Mohammad Yaseen designed the sets of the play whereas Neeraj Kant executed the Lights. The show was coordinated by Sumeet Sharma who also did the presentations.
Speaking on the occasion,  Natrang Director,  Balwant Thakur informed that Natrang is going to celebrate World Theatre Day and will present comedy play ‘Bichhu’ on March 27 at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu.
