JAMMU, May 14: Theatre group ‘Natrang’ here today staged play ‘Hangama Ho Gaya’.
Written by Ashok Mishra, this hilarious comedy was directed by Neeraj Kant.
The play opens at the residence of a wealthy man ‘Chaggu Mal’ who had advertised for a suitable match for his only daughter and he had organized an interview for the same.
Looking at the lucrative prospect, a huge crowd gathers at his gate and most of them had come because of sheer greed without even looking at their own eligibility of being the prospective groom for a girl of that much caliber.
The heartbeat of ‘Chaggu Mal’ fastens as all of them were without any worth, every new person entering the interview room adds on to his tension and palpitation. The prospective grooms were also shown in a caricature manner where they had dramatic flaws which made the audience laugh and create situational and unavoidable comedy in the play.
After a long and hard day, ‘Chaggu Mal’ receives shocking news that the daughter for which he was looking for a match and went through all this trouble, had already selected her life partner and informs him through a letter about her decision to marry him.
Actors who performed in the play were Mahikshit Singh, Mihir Gujral, Aadesh Dhar, Sheryaar Salaria, Abhimanyu Choudhary, Kushal Bhat, Kuldeep Angral, Vishal Sharma and Sumit Bandaral.
Lights were operated by Neeraj Kant whereas the music was rendered by Brijesh Avtar Sharma. The show was coordinated by Mohd. Yaseen.
