POONCH, Aug 9: Natrang created history today by taking theatre to the remotest part of the State where larger number of locals came to see theatre happening for the first time.
The place was village Gulpur where Natrang staged highly socially relevant plays with the support of Krishna Ghathi Brigade, Poonch.
Written and directed by Padamshree Balwant Thakur, the plays included ‘Iss Gran Gi Swarg Bani Lo’ (Make this village a heaven), ‘Choona Hai Aasmaan’ and ‘Suno Eh Kahani’. The most noteworthy feature of the presentations was the use of language and the local idioms.
The productions were devised by Balwant Thakur in such an imaginative manner that audience was identifying with each situation and act created in the plays as if these plays were speaking about them and their village problems.
Aimed at effectively educating the general masses, these plays spoke about burning human concerns like ‘Save the Girl Child’, ‘Women empowerment and education’ ‘Sanitation Education- Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’, ‘Communal harmony’ ‘National integration’ and ‘Peace the pre-requisite for overall development’.
Natrang actors who performed in today’s shows included Neeraj Kant, Mohammad Yaseen, Juhi Singh, Ankush Lakhnotra, Rajan Thakyal, Deepak Mulsoo, Rohit Sharma, Sudesh Parihar, Shivam Singh, Pankaj Verma, Harbans Lal, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Sonu and Mandeep Singh.
